There are very few, if any, hospitals in the UK which
are recruiting overseas nurses at present.
If you are outside the UK, you would be far better to
apply directly to hospitals you want to work at in the
current climate.
Many agencies which claim they will be able to place you
with a hospital in the UK will either take money from and
give you nothing - or place you with an old people's home
where you will work as a care assistant.
How to protect yourself now AHR
is gone.
Never pay an up-front fee to a
nursing agency. You will almost certainly lose your
money.
Make sure you are given a contract which states exactly
where you will work. If it is a hospital, make sure it
has a website which ends with ".nhs.uk".
Find out the name of the manager you will be working for
before you leave your country. Call the switchboard of
the hospital you will be working for (the number will be on
the website) and ask to speak to them. Check they know
you are coming and all other details.
